"Fitz. Leo Fitz," he said, really hoping he’d continue to be addressed by surname. Then again, seeing how Fitz apparently meant ‘acknowledged bastard child’, sometimes he was less pleased about that than other times. "You’re a na’ive of, ehm…" Now was not the time to forget the name of the city. Really actually not a good time. And furthermore, he really ought to tell someone where he was going.

A quick text to May later, Fitz put h is phone away. “An’—” Whoops. He’d almost just introduced his mind’s version of Simmons, the one who had only just appeared when he’d worried about checking in, the one walking happily beside him and remarking on the quality of the air. “An’, ehm…does this sor’ of thing happen a lo’?” Way to cover.

"Well, Fitz. This sort of thing is pretty common. We don’t know what it is about Japan that attracts alien armadas and alchemical monsters, but it’s probably along the same lines that makes the UK so favored by time travelers."

He holds the door open for the scientist, letting him breathe in the aroma of handmade food from Great Britain.

God almighty, that was a welcoming smell.  Instantly, some of the tension in Fitz’s shoulders melted as for a moment, he felt like he was home.  Well, maybe not home home, because that was SHIELD, but his childhood home, the smells of Glasgow he wanted to remember (not the unpleasant ones, of course, no one likes to remember those) taking over and filling his lungs.

"I wonder if i’s to do with the, ehm, the…"

"The massive amounts of tectonic activity, that’s possible," she grinned.  "After all, when you’re on the border of four tectonic plates, weird things are bound to happen, tied in with the earthquakes and volcanoes.  It’s the same reason why California tends to get some really strange occurrences."

"Yeah," Fitz said, too caught up in the smells of home to realize that he needed to explain what un-Simmons had just suggested.  "Tha’ sounds abou’ right."

"What sounds right?" He asks, now a bit concerned about his new friend.

The proprietor of the restaurant approaches, dressed in the finest tartan and carrying a pair of bagpipes. “Welcome, gentlemen.” She says, giving them a bow with a flourish. “Today’s specials are shepherd’s pie, black pudding and for dessert, Cranachan. Please follow me to you seats.”

On the way to the Restaurant, Gentaro answers Kitaoka’s question. “I’m Kisaragi Gentaro, Kamen Rider Fourze. The gentlemen behind these bets was most likely hoping for some kind of major crisis when the Armada Dopant attacked people in Fuuto Harbor. I fought the monster, and was able to limit injuries to one person with a broken wrist.” He takes a moment to catch his breath.

"I thought I was done after I turned in the former dopant to the police. Then I got the registered mail saying this man was suing me for disrupting his business. I thought it was some kind of supply company, and I would have paid the settlement if my friends didn’t turn up the evidence about the betting ring."

A Kamen Rider. As expected. Maybe this was sort of a trap. But then he started talking about monsters and more. He was certainly too gullible to be in the Rider Battle. Anyway, he took a deep breath as they reached the restaurant.

Entering the place and being walked towards the table, Kitaoka sat as he got comfortable in his seat. “Well.. the situation is rather…difficult to solve but I will make sure those people stop doing this. If something can happen is that the court can be bought and that not even I can stop.”

"One thing we’ve got in our favor is that every person in this area has been helped by a Kamen Rider in some way for the past forty-three years, so public opinion is on our side. The court can be bought, that’s true, but if we can take this guy down, it will help all those who lost people breathe a bit easier."

"Want to talk about it?"

"Not particularly…."

"I can understand that. Here, have some hot cocoa."

"I can afford you. Do you take payment in gold?" He holds up a bag of gold coins, some of which are showing signs of having been underwater. Some have developed coral on them. "I figured you wouldn’t take the case pro bono, so I went treasure diving."

"There is one thing. If I see a monster attacking people, I will not hesitate to save them. Their lives are more important."

Seeing the bag of gold coins, he raised his eyebrow. He could sense this person was no ordinary person. He maybe was a Rider seeking to attack him. No, his attitude was just like Kido’s. Chuckling he took the bag as he shook his head. “You remind me of an idiot I know. Very well. I will stand for you in court. But before, I have to know who I’m talking with and your involvement in this matter. So, please, come.”

Outside was already another man, a punk like dressed man with a serious look. Kitaoka gave him his suitcase. “Goro chan. He is our client. He’s going to eat with us in our usual spot.”

Goro Yura nodded as he smiled at the young man, opening the door for him of the Mercedes Benz and closed the door when the teen entered. Then both Kitaoka and Goro took the front seat as the latter started the engine and headed towards the fancy restaurant.

Fitz couldn’t help but jump a little bit when the armor vanished. It wasn’t that the act was a total surprise, of course, since there was very little chance that his host was permanently entombed in it, but it had happened so suddenly that he’d jumped a bit.

"Okay," he agreed, stomach rumbling once more. "I’ has been a while since I’ve had a good shepherd’s pie," the Scot admitted. Not since a pub in London, on his lunch break during the Greenwich cleanup, really. "Yeah, tha’ sounds good."

"Oh, Shepherd’s pie is really good. The Cous Coussier does a really good job getting the recipe right. All fresh ingredients." He starts walking with Fitz down towards the restaurant. "I’m Gentaro, by the way. What’s your name?"

"I was told that you were the best lawyer around." Gentaro adjusts his tie and looks across the desk. "I want you to represent me." He places some documents on the desk.

"This man wants to sue me because my actions in protecting the public have disrupted his business. His business involves ‘death pool’ betting on how many people are injured or killed during monster attacks."

Gentaro looks into Kitaoka’s eyes. “This man, along with the members of his website, are profiting from the pain of other people. That’s why I want you to represent me. I have nothing but faith that you will not only be able to get this lawsuit dismissed, but also aid in bringing this man to justice.”

Kitoako was in shock a mere teenager like him was already sued by a important ‘entertainment industry’ like the one the papers had. There were rumors in the underground these people made profits with monster fights in tape, enjoying the suffering. He had been investigating on his own, discovering most of his Rider fights as Zolda and others. Certainly these people had power. And people with power were not easy to shut them down.

"As what I can say….the lawyer whose representing them is a ‘heavyweight’ in the market. So I hope you can pay a generous paycheck if you want me to represent you." Kitaoka was not going to let this go cheap. Even if he was going to do this for justice, he would profit from it.

"I can afford you. Do you take payment in gold?" He holds up a bag of gold coins, some of which are showing signs of having been underwater. Some have developed coral on them. "I figured you wouldn’t take the case pro bono, so I went treasure diving."

"That’s something I don’t know." He blogs a hit from one of the clockworks. "They’re not like anything I’ve faced before. Usually, clockworks are the last thing my enemies would think of using."

”Well then—” he began, hoisting his sonic into the air before him as it gave its familiar buzz.

His suspicious were correct it seems, “—It’s obvious.” The Doctor paused, lowering the sonic to his side as a content smile pulled at his mouth. He took one small step towards them, genuinely curious as to how these so called soldiers functioned. “Yeaah I’ve seen something like these before, although they were much better, these are rubbish.”

"Well, if they’re rubbish, do you mind if I scrap them?" He leaps back from the swing of the clockworks, the jetpack in his armor giving him a few extra feet of distance.

FREEZE ON.

An icebox appears on his leg, creating a slick patch of ice directly in front of him. The first clockwork to set foot on it loses all traction.
